Beach Day

Saturday afternoon we went to Ko'olina to get some sun and have some fighting-free entertainment for the kids. I love the beach. There's enough of it they don't have to share :)
Zui and ZyZy digging the classic wade pool.

The sun made Zeya real drowsy--he was knocked out most of the time.

Anjuli LOVES her floaties. She feels very confident in the water and loves to swim "all by herself."

Mother of 3! I like to see pictures of myself with the kids because honestly, it is still hard for me to believe that I have three children. Where did the time go? Does that make me old? Never mind the growing wrinkles around my eyes...

Baby Z

Here's the latest pics of Zeya. He is growing up so fast. He rolls over now, loves to stand, slobbers all day, and smiles and laughs at the kids.

Plus he's got a dimple! Yes! I love it!

Zion's Great Escape

This is Zion's latest trick he showed us today...

Oh boy, now what do we do?? We previously put a caliber clip on the gate latch, then had to move up to a combination lock when he figured that one out... but I think this time he's got us beat. Looks like we'll need a gated yard for sure :)

Happy Anniversary!

Happy 4 years to us! For our anniversary this year I wanted to bike the North Shore. It's something we did a few times when we were dating.

Zui had fun feeding the chickens some cornbread. Anjuli would have loved to see that.
We stopped at every beach we passed: Three tables, Shark's Cove, Leftovers, Pipeline, Rocky's, Keiki's, and Sunset.

It was so great to be able to bike ride again. The North Shore is so much easier to access on bike than by car. The trail along the North Shore is real pretty, too.

I married the best man. Zui has been such the perfect husband for me. I'm so grateful he is so kind and caring, understanding and patient. We have the most fun together :) Thank you Babes, for another great year!

Looking forward to many more that come...

Day of Fun

Last Saturday was quite the day! It started off with a trip to Mililani so Zui could work and I could go to Walmart. But when we got there Zui surprised me when he popped open the trunk and got out our double jogger and rollerblades. He said the shopping could wait, we were going strollerblading! So Zui took Anjuli and Zion in the double, and I had Izaiah in the single stroller. It was so much fun! We strollerbladed down a few streets and ended up at a park for the kids to play at. I love spontaneity! Then after the kids naps we headed to the pool. Anjuli really wanted to go even though it was kind of overcast outside.
Zion loves being thrown in the air :) And Daddy loves to do it.
Pure joy
Best Daddy

My little Anjuli is growing up so fast! She loves her floaties. She can go all the way down to the deep end and up the stairs all by herself. Then she runs back to the shallow end and does it all over again.

For some reason, and I'm not quite sure why, I see myself in this picture of Anjuli. Maybe it reminds me of a childhood picture of myself. I'll have to ask Mom...

For dinner we splurged and ate at McDonald's for $6. It was worth it! The kids had too much fun playing on the jungle gym there. Zion finally had a climbing challenge--the stairs to get up to the top of the slides were pretty high. It would take him a while to get to each new level. When he finally would after each one he would say, "Yay! I did it!" He was so proud of himself.

So we would have only spent $5 but in order to pull them away from the jungle gym we had to bribe them with icecream--hence the hot fudge sundae we ended with. Still, dinner and a show for a family of 5 all for $6 is pretty cheap! We'll have to do this again. I love having the kids entertained and happy :)

Preschool, cont.

Preschool is continuing to go well! Here we are on our bug search. Actually to our disappointment the bugs were all sleeping, so we had to move on to other activities.
Piano lesson time! It has been really fun to teach Aiden and Anjuli at the same time. Their attention span is pretty short, as expected, but they are learning a few new things.

More Montessori projects

Learning to button (great idea Kathleen!)

Blue and Yellow makes Green!!

This was Kathleen's Valentine project for the kids last Monday. So cute!

Pizza Fun

I came home today to the sweet smell of pizza... Just look at what Zui and the kids have been up to!
I'm sure the kids had a great time helping Daddy.

Zui worked for a few different pizza companies over the years, so he's really got this pizza making thing down.

Like a pro!

What a good helper :)

Don't worry, their hands are clean... (haha) Oh well, the oven should kill all the germs.

Taste testers--must've got it from Mommy

Finished product: 1/2 BBQ Chicken, 1/2 cheese

Nothing like tasting the work of your own hands :)
I call Zui "Superdad" because, well, he is! So glad I married a good man...

Preschool

Anjuli just started Preschool! My friend and I decided to get together and swap days and kids in an attempt to teach our children without paying $700/month for preschool. So... every Monday, Anjuli goes over to Aiden's house from 9-11am, then I get Aiden every Thursday for 2 hours. These pictures were taken at Aiden's house, her very first day of preschool.
Anjuli LOVES preschool. She just kept talking about it all day. Art class

Montessori counting activity

Snack time! (a must)

Coloring activity. After they scribbled in pink and red, they put another heart-shaped paper on top for Valentine's Day. What a great idea! Right now mine is hanging on our front door :) I love displaying Anjuli's school work. I can't believe my little girl is so big already!

On a side note, I finally finished making a calendar for Anjuli. I wanted her to know what was coming up in advance so she could look forward to activities and know what to expect. Every night she X's out the day on the calendar, and in the morning she moves over the "day" dot that indicates which day we are on.

So far I have tags for church, FHE (family night), preschool, playdates, and Mom and Dad's date night. It's funny, she really likes date nights because she loves babysitters. I think she likes the extra attention, and the fact that the night usually includes a movie :)
