Anjuli starts Preschool

Today was Anjuli's first day of Preschool! She was soo excited to go. Thanks to the Kamehameha Pauahi Scholarship, she was able to go for free (thank you KS!). She will go MWF from 7:30-11:30am. Her scholarship actually covered her to go every day, so it was a hard decision to make. Finally we decided to keep it at 3 days a week so that I can still have some time to teach her and play with her. Since I'm gone teaching piano each afternoon, the morning is the only time I have with her.
First day of school picture :)
Anjuli is in the "Honu" class! Honu means turtle in Hawaiian, so all their decorations are turtle style--I love it!
Anjuli's cubby hole--so cute!
Anjuli has 2 teachers: Miss Juanita

and Miss DeeDee (DeAnne)
I brought Zion to drop Anjuli off...he looked like he wanted to stay, too :) Hopefully next year we can get him in 3 days a week and Anjuli in 5 days.

She loved playing with the My Little Ponies and the sand station.A look at their classroom--charts galore! Weather chart, Calendar, Job chart, Alphabets, sign-in chart... I love how organized it is and how each day has a schedule to follow.

Baby station: this is Anjuli's favorite place to play. Complete baby center with play food, dress up clothes, and play house toys.
Anjuli's first day she got to paint! She painted a black frame that will display all her artwork she does throughout the year. They even let Zion paint, too!
Science center--how cool is that?
When I came to pick up Anjuli she did NOT want to leave. She was sad everyone else got to stay for lunch but she had to go home. It is so nice to know she likes preschool and gets to try all sorts of different things. I have to say it was great to have some one on one time with Zion. Zeya sleeps from 9-11am, so during that time I really get to give Zion all my attention--something he REALLY needs right now.

Ali'i's

Last week we went to Ali'i's beach for some fun in the sun and potluck dinner with the Kim ohana. The kids had plenty of room to roam and explore. I love the beach, it gives them endless hours of entertainment.
I just thought this was too funny. Out of convenience we were trying to teach Zion how to 'water some plants' but he just won't do it!
All the cousins! Anjuli especially was so excited to have her Maui cousins in town: Daisy, Mahonri, Gideon and Teancum.
I couldn't get this picture to turn...anyways, Anjuli doing 'sand' angels :)
Zeya playing with his cuzzies.
We walked out on the pier and saw this honu--cool!
Not the best family pic...
I never tire of the sunsets in Hawaii...

My Little Princess

Anjuli loves princesses. She is constantly dressing up into her princess outfits, even if they are 3 sizes too big. Everyday she tells me, "Mommy, did you know I am a princess??" She is always asking Zion to go to the ball with her, grabbing his hands, and saying, "Zion, come dance with me!"

Whenever we sing our nightly primary song, she always dances along. Sometimes ballet, sometimes hula, and yes, she knows the difference :)

Here she is with her cousin Teancum. It looks like she convinced him to go the ball with her :)

Zion, on the other hand, is my blueberry boy.
He's finding new places for lots of things...
Anjuli also loves pretending she's pregnant!
I can't wait to show her these pictures when she really is!

Happy 4th of July!

It's been a while since we took a family picture, so we decided to try today...geez it's hard with kids!
Here's the best we could get...
And if you're wondering who that baldy is... Zion said goodbye to his hair last night. He hates haircuts and was crying and thrashing all about yelling, "Mommy do it! Mommy do it!" So in a moment of exasperation I said, "okay, Mommy do it." I picked up the clippers, figuring Zui had it on the longest setting to start, and zipped right up to the top. When Zui got out of the bathroom he said, "Where'd that hair come from?!" I said, "I cut it, Zion wanted me to do it." He said, "But not with 1/8 inch!"
So there you have it. Mommy did an oops, which results in Zion looking like a buddhist monk for the next 3 weeks. Oh well, at least it's not permanent :)

New House Pics

We are still slowly unpacking and working on remodeling...but here is the latest state of our house :) This is just as you walk in the front door. The stairs are on the left, kitchen on the right.
Here's our kitchen, I Love the color Corina helped me pick out "Rookwood Blue Green." I can't say enough good about Sherwin Williams. I asked about a discount and they gave me each gallon of paint for $15 each!
Living room/family room. The desk will be moved into the office downstairs once our carpet comes in. The carpet should come in about 2 weeks, can't wait. Then we can finish moving furniture around and finally put up some pictures and decorate.
Dining room--I bought this table off of craigslist for $75. It comes with an extension leaf and 6 chairs, but all in terrible condition. So this is the next project I'm in the middle of (like I really needed another project...what was I thinking?!)
Looking outside to our lanai, which needs a LOT of work. Zui plans on removing all the concrete this week, then laying down a deck and putting in grass. Just one of many projects...
Before and after pics of the chairs I'm working on. We're still deciding on a color. DH doesn't like the red, so we may go for a brown. Still many hours left to go on this project, but little by little things are coming together!

Just Havin' Fun

Since we've moved in the kids have been finding new things to play with.
Zion loves riding Anjuli's bike round and round the couch. Zeya loves to chase him...
When Anjuli does get a turn on her bike, Zion's the one chasing.
Anjuli loves to have her picture taken now.
Zion loves riding uh... sans undies...
...sure hope you don't mind, Anjuli!
These are the neighbor kids Anjuli quickly made friends with. She just runs up to random kids and says, "Hey friends! Come play with me!"
My friend Katie bought them silly string while she was here. A few days ago we brought it out for a few minutes of fun.
I love Zion's expression--he is trying SO hard to push the nozzle down! He finally got it after a while.
Big fun, BIG mess :) It seems like all the funnest things are the messiest!
