Baby Jasmine

Announcing the birth of baby Jasmine Magdalene Leimomi Xiao-Ling Kim!
Born May 14th, 2011 at 8:15pm
8lb, 22 in long

Magdalene Leimomi is my Grandmother's name. I thought it was so cool my Grandma had a Hawaiian middle name--her father served his mission in the Hawaiian islands. Leimomi means "lei of pearls."
Xiao-Ling translates to "morning bells." Yep, she's our little alarm clock :)

The kids sure love her.

My midwife, Dr. Lori Kimata, weighing Jasmine.

Support team: Doula Leanne and Dr. Lori.

I know this is brief, trying to get this updated but each day is so busy. For now we are happily enjoying our new little bundle of joy. Welcome to earth baby Jasmine!!!

Happy Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's day, thanks to an awesome husband :) Zui let me sleep in while he cooked a gourmet breakfast: waffles with sauteed cinnamon apples and fresh whipped cream--yum! He surprised me with beautiful flowers, a new pots and pans set, and a homemade card.
My favorite of all was the homemade card. I was stunned he would take the time to make me something out of my own stamps and paper! In fact, at first when I saw the card I thought he bought it, then I thought wait a sec, those are MY stamps, he must have gotten my friend Teressa to make it for him! And then when I finally realized that HE actually made it, I started crying and couldn't stop...

He had the kids help and "write" me a message (that he transcribed). So funny to read their little stories.
I love my new pots and pans set! We have really been needing one, so it was a great gift.

Zeya loves being a ham for the camera.

That night we went to a Kim ohana party. Zui made my favorite: strawberry pie, it was delicious.
But the best gift of all is happy kids :) and a great husband!

Zeya's Big Fall

Zeya has decided to be a pirate for the next few weeks... Friday morning he wanted to go for a walk so bad, so, in an effort to keep him happy I put him in the stroller, then ran upstairs to grab a few things. I should have known better... next thing I know I hear the scream that all mom's know means something serious. Apparently he climbed up to the top of the stroller, where his weight toppled it over and he landed face first in the gravel. He screamed for an hour, it was so heartbreaking.

As you can see, he got some pretty bad road rash on his forehead, nose, and chin, as well as the lovely black eye. Luckily he is okay, and doing surprisingly well. Zui took him to the ER, where the nurse actually said, "oh look what happens when Daddy babysits..." Zui laughed and said, "I was at work!"
I'm pretty emotional now, being pregnant, so for the first few hours everytime I looked at him I would cry and tell him how sorry I was.
Then when I would pull out the camera he would put on this silly grin and I would cry and say, "how can you smile at a time like this?!"
He has been a trooper. Thanks Zeya for still being all smiles. I promise I'll be a better mom!

Showtime!

The Linda Kim Studio had its Spring Recital on Saturday entitled "Showtime!" The students performed Disney, Popular, and Movie/TV music. The kids had a lot of fun with it, especially since they dressed up in costume to correlate with their song. We also had a guest performer on the drums, Dylan Chang. He accompanied Robert Jamias during his songs, "20th Century Fox Fanfare" and "Hawaii Five-0." It was probably my funnest recital. Hard to believe I have 35 students, sometimes I feel like they are my own kids since I see them weekly. Teaching piano has been a great blessing for me.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!
We had a fun Easter for the kids. We filled their baskets with garage sale treasures.
Anjuli got a new Barbie movie, 2 leotards with princess skirts for dress-up, a few polly pocket dolls, barbie, and a Hello Kitty pez.
Zion got a mini skateboard and Spiderman helmet. Zeya got a box of Cinnamon toast crunch :)
Zion loves having his picture taken right now. I love the chocolate smeared on his face. He ate a LOT of Easter candy.
My mom gave Zion this Easter outfit (thanks!). He loves it and wanted to wear to church again, today.

Anjuli and Zion are still best friends (and worst enemies). I love it when they're happy :)

Laie Trip

We went up to Laie for Randell (Zui's cousin's) graduation from BYU-H. Congrats! Hard to believe that 7 years ago I was in his spot, with a cute boyfriend by my side and his family giving me leis :)
Zui watched the kids while I went to the temple (thanks!) The kids love going to the visitor's center at the temple.

On a side note, look how my peas are growing! woohoo!
