Pretty in Pink

This morning I found Zion getting all dressed up and ready to go...
Then he went after Anjuli's sippy cup, and I knew I had to grab my camera

I'd say he's man enough to wear pink, but is he? He'd make such a cute girl!

Anjuli thought it was cool, so she had to put on my shoes so I'd take a picture of her, too.

Sometime last night Anjuli crawled into bed with Zion. Too cute! I love seeing how much these kiddos love eachother.

Crib Climbers

It has been a traumatic week as we've come to the knowledge that Zion is no longer a crib baby. Anjuli has already show us her abilities as seen below (this was taken in the middle of the night) but Zion threw us for a loop.

We thought maybe Zion was able to get out of his crib because of the little grooves in the slats. So...Zui spent quite a while in switching Zion and Izaiah's cribs--lowering Zeya's and raising Zion's. When Zui finished he said, "Ha! Let's see you get out of this one ZyZy." With one graceful swoop Zion hoisted his leg onto the top of the crib and .2 seconds later he was over the edge. Then he gave us that grin that said, "Ha! I'll show you, Daddy!" He was so proud of himself. We just sat back, awestruck, not knowing what to do next.

He then showed us how he could climb back into the crib with ease...

So now we have graduated from 2 cribs and a toddler bed in one room to 2 toddler beds in a room plus one crib in OUR room (no fun at all). When we discovered how much we didn't like sleeping with a baby, we added a portacrib to our living room where Zeya sleeps at night. Hopefully we will get into a house SOON!!!

Bag Lady

Anjuli has to bring all her bags of toys when she rides her bike. It really is a sight to see! 2 on each handle bar, plus a few extra toys in the basket behind her seat.
It's so heavy that the bike tips when she gets off :)

Anjuli loves her baby brother. She is always wanting to see him, kiss him, and love him :)

Quest to become local...

Lately I've realized that because I never cook local foods my children are not getting the chance they need to get accustomed to it. So I made a goal for Zui to cook a new local menu every few weeks. Here's week 1: Spam Musubi's. It took me a while to finish mine. I had to have an orange close by everytime I got too strong a whiff of the seaweed, plus a huge glass of water. But I made it! I was so proud of myself. One step closer. However I don't see myself eating another one of those for a while... The kids on the other hand LOVE It! Good for them! Now at dinner time Anjuli keeps saying, "I want musubi's!"

I'm so glad my kids will fit in here and enjoy all the yummy* local foods--bring on the poke and lau lau!

Ali'i's

On MLK day a bunch of Kim ohana met at Ali'i's for some beach fun. It's been a while since we went to the beach so it was nice to see the waves again.I could not get Anjuli to smile for me until I said, "Anjuli, you want Mommy to put this picture on the blog??"

What a pretty girl!

Zion could play at the beach all day if we let him...

Future football player

I like this candid shot of Zui and Zeya.

On a side note, it looks like we have a thumb-sucker on our hands...we always put Zeya down with a binky but this is how we find him in the middle of the night....*sigh*
