The Latest with Anjuli

During lunch a few days ago Anjuli yells, "Mommy, corn!" and points to her nose. At first I didn't see anything so I kind of ignored her, but she kept saying it, so I pulled out a plastic fork and went digging. I pulled out about 3 on each side and thought that was it. Then 15 minutes later she yelled again, "corn!" I held down one nostril and told her to blow and out shot another one. Where did she learn that?! Now I have to really watch her during dinner.
Anjuli's new smile!
I found Anjuli watering Zion yesterday...

Zion and Anjuli love to play in the lego wagon. Anjuli loves trying to tow Zion around (it's really cute to watch!)
Fun with chalk! They loved decorating our lanai, and Daddy had a nice message to come home to :)

Miss Independent
Meet Miss Independent! Her favorite phrase is "I WILL DO IT!" The latest bouts of self-reliance include putting on her own diaper (really funny to watch), getting in her carseat by herself (nice, if you have a lot time on your hands), shutting and opening doors, putting on shoes, putting on makeup, dressing herself...the list goes on and on. It really is fun watching her do things herself and I'm amazed at how quick she is growing up.

Mini Mom

I love seeing Anjuli be a little mom, she is so good at it!

A walk down Memory Lane

A few days back my friend Jolie Hendricks came into town. She was my colorguard instructor from high school 10 years ago (yes, I did say 10!) We met up at Sharks Cove. The kids loved playing in the shallow water and seeing the fish. Meanwhile, I got a major sunburn (I forget how bad those hurt). Then we headed to her team's winterguard show. Jolie is currently teaching at Foothill Highschool in California. They were awesome!

When I was in winterguard I did saber swords, like these girls, as well as flag. I loved it.

Jolie and our fam--so great to see you again, Jolie!

Happy Easter!

I had a great time putting together the kids Easter baskets this year. Especially since Anjuli is old enough to get excited about holidays. We didn't finish til almost midnight. Right before we went to bed I got really hungry and asked Zui if he was up for Sweet Bread French Toast. Luckily he was nice enough to appease his hungry pregnant wife!I thought it would be a fun tradition to start (for him and I--no kids!) but it does make for an early and tiring morning...
Anjuli got a new bike for Easter! (free to us, thanks Kellie!) We were so excited to give it to her. In her Easter basket she got lots of eggs filled with cereal (Trix, Lucky Charms, and Cookie Crisp) plus a bubble wand, some hair ties, and a monkey filled Valentine Candy that Zui had bought for her a few days earlier. It was only 10 cents, and she had already eaten about half the candies, but we put it in her basket anyway to make it look like there was more there. We couldn't wait to see Anjuli's reaction when she got her bike, so we videotaped it. Here's what happened Easter morning...

What Beats Blues Clues?

Anjuli has always been a fan of Blues Clues--it is her absolute favorite! But a few days ago I introduced her to "Singin' in the Rain." I thought she should see some of it since every morning we sing to her the "Good Mornin'" song. Ever since then she doesn't want to watch anything but "Sing Rain!" as she calls it. It is so cute. Zui said, "Oh no, looks like we have another musical addict in the making..." I'm happy to have someone to share my favorite movie with :)
Zui found this clip--gotta see it:
