Zui turned 27 today! To start off the day he got donuts and hot chocolate for breakfast. Presents included a pair of rollerblades, a Disney songbook, and a Jack Johnson songbook.
We had a nice long date, thanks to the Johansson's. We saw the movie "The Dark Knight" (way awesome!), followed by dinner at Tonyromas. The ribs were soo good! I didn't think I was a really big ribs fan, but now I think I want to go there for my birthday, too :) They gave Zui a free dessert, a brownie icecream sundae.
At Tonyromas they had a magician walk around to all the tables and do a little show. It was so cool!
I was completely sold on all the tricks, but Zui said he figured them all out.

Big Sister Love
Anjuli is really loving being a big sister. If she could talk (and be understood) I think this is what she would say: "Okay Zy Zy, time to play blocks" "Hey, you can't suck your fingers, only I can!"
"Oh, spit up? No problem, I got the burp cloth"
"I can make you laugh like no one else"
"Sure do love you"

This Little Piggy
Lately we've been playing "This Little Piggy" with Anjuli. Then a few days later I saw her doing it to Zion! She picks up his foot and wiggles his toes back and forth while saying "dis..."followed by some jibberish. Anjuli just loves being a little Mommy to Zy Zy.

Playtime with Daddy
Tattoo Time
We went to a baby luau for our friend Caleb. They had a huge inflatable jumper (which Anjuli loved), magic show, and tattoo artist. Everyone except Anjuli got one--she didn't like the lady drawing on her leg.
Zy Zy got little turtles going up his leg.
Zui got a cool surfer dude, and I got stars! Fun stuff :)

Pulama I Na Keiki
Anjuli is part of a Hawaiian education program called "Pulama I Na Keiki," which means "cherish the children." Vanessa, our educator, comes several times a month to work with Anjuli and make sure she is hitting all her milestones so she'll be ready for school (in a few years :) Here Vanessa is teaching Anjuli how to paint water onto tissue paper so the colors bleed onto the white page. I love that the program is free and they come to MY home! What a deal!
Vanessa gave me a good idea: fill a bucket with soapy water and add a few drops of food coloring. Then let your kids wash your windows! Anjuli and her friend Aiden had a great time doing this!

Iroquois Point
Saturday we tried out a new beach--Iroquois Point. It is really a beautiful beach, complete with a playground set right on the sand. But... it is super windy! We thought maybe it was just that day that winds were blowing like crazy, but we talked to a few people and they said it's usually really windy there. It was so windy we could hardly do anything--our lunch kept flying away, as well as our other belongings, and Zion just cried the whole time. Now I understand why the beach was pretty much empty on a beautiful Saturday... We saw this submarine go right on by us!
Zui had a fun time boogie boarding, even though the waves were so choppy.

Pretty Girl
Anjuli got this outfit from Aunty Lory! Maybe I'm biased, but I sure think Anjuli is a pretty girl. She is getting so fun now. She really loves it when I sing "Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree." I'm clearly not a singer, but she loves it so much that when I'm done she'll say "please" to have me sing it again. Unreal! I can't believe someone wants me to sing!

Tosh Johansson
This is Tosh! I am now babysitting him everyday from 7 to 12. He is really a great kid. It works out really well, although Anjuli is not the nicest to him just yet. I think she feels threatened when he plays with her toys, plus she is now competing for my attention with another kid. Here he is enjoying my blueberry muffins :)
Anjuli is in the "don't take my picture!" phase... so here she is saying "noooo"
Anjuli likes to "help" Tosh drink from his sippy cup. Whenever Tosh lies down to drink his juice Anjuli has to sit next to him and play with his hair. Anjuli is getting kinda used to having him around. Yesterday Tosh was sick so he stayed home. At breakfast Anjuli was being fussy. We said, "Anjuli what do you want? Do you want milk? no. Do you want cheerios? no. Do you want Tosh? yeah!!!
